Sayani recently returned from the United Kingdom where they shared
their music and stories from Cork county, the southern most tip of Ireland
to Belfast, Maghera, Carrick Fergus and other counties in Northern Ireland.
They were told that their music "rocked Northern Ireland" in such a way as
to present Native American music in a whole new light and have been invited
back to tour and sing at the Ireland Cultural Festival.
Upon their return to the U.S, Sayani went straight to the Way South Powwow
in Mc Allen, Texas to sing for the fourth year in a row.
After resting for a few short days, they flew to Saginaw, Michigan and sang
in a church where no other Native American had ever set foot on the stage in
the past. It was the beginning of a wonderful relationship with the people
in that area. Sayani was invited back to sing at Ojibwe Island where they
will take part in a yearly celebration that commemorates the signing of the
peace treaty between the United States government and the Mt. Pleasant
Indians. Invitations were also extended to sing in Canada in places that
can only be reached by small plane. Sayani is excited about the future as
more and more people that claim to have never heard Native American music
begin to enjoy their songs and appreciate a genre that is new to them.
